M MarloweBespoke Tailors

Kuala Lumpur · Since 1994

Tailoring that reads as quietly certain.

We cut individual patterns by hand, fit in person, and build garments meant to be worn for a decade — not a season. No rented templates, no rushed hems.

Why Marlowe

The difference is in the parts you never see.

01

A pattern that is yours

Every commission begins with a fresh paper pattern drafted to your measurements and posture — not a graded block nudged to fit.

02

Canvassed construction

We float a natural canvas through the chest so the jacket moulds to you over time instead of collapsing after a season.

03

Fittings you can feel

Two to three in-person fittings mean small corrections happen on the stand, long before the garment reaches your wardrobe.

The house style

Structured enough for the boardroom, soft enough for Sunday.

Marlowe sits between the rigid English drape and the unlined Neapolitan ease. The shoulder is clean but never boxy; the waist is shaped without pinching. It is a silhouette built for humid afternoons and long meetings alike.

  • Lightweight tropical wools chosen for the Malaysian climate
  • Hand-padded lapels and collars for a natural roll
  • Working cuffs, hand-finished buttonholes, milled horn buttons
  • A lifetime of complimentary pressing on every commission

How a commission runs

Four unhurried steps.

Consult

We talk about use, cloth and budget, then take a full set of measurements and photograph posture.

Draft & cut

Your pattern is drafted, the cloth is cut, and a basted skeleton is prepared for the first fitting.

Fit

Two or three fittings refine balance, waist and length until the mirror stops arguing with you.

Finish

Buttonholes are sewn by hand, the garment is pressed, and we log your pattern for future orders.

In their words

Regulars who stopped shopping elsewhere.

“The jacket does something off-the-rack never managed — it disappears. I forget I'm wearing structure until someone asks where it's from.”

Faizal R.Advocate & solicitor, KL

“Marlowe dressed our entire wedding party across three cities and every fitting was on schedule. Rare and appreciated.”

Marcus & LenaMarried in Bangsar, 2024

“We reorder front-desk uniforms every intake and the cloth still matches the first batch from four years ago. That's the whole point.”

Before you book

Questions we hear most.

How long does a first suit take?

Plan on four to six weeks from your consultation to collection. Because we draft a new pattern and fit in person, we don't rush the middle — but repeat orders move faster since your block is already on file.

What should I budget?

Made-to-measure two-pieces begin around RM 2,400, while full bespoke with hand canvassing starts near RM 4,500 depending on cloth. We'll quote precisely once you've chosen a fabric.

Do you keep my measurements?

Yes. Every pattern is archived under your name so future commissions and remote reorders only need a quick confirmation rather than a full re-measure.

Can you work to a wedding deadline?

Absolutely, provided we start six to eight weeks out for a full party. Book earlier during the year-end season, which fills quickly.

Do you alter garments made elsewhere?

We do, as workshop capacity allows. Bring the piece in and we'll tell you honestly whether an alteration is worth it or whether you're better starting fresh.

Ready when you are

Come get measured properly.

An initial consultation takes about forty-five minutes and there's no obligation to order. Bring a garment you love — or one you don't — and we'll take it from there.
